Each winter hundreds of Bald Eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) descend upon the Klamath and Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuges of Northern California and Southern Oregon in search of a feast of dead and dying waterfowl. Pictured here is one of the eagles perched on the frozen Tule Lake.
