For me, there is no place more inspiring, calming, and spectacular as California's High Sierra's alpine landscape. The view here is from 12,400 feet on Feather Peak over looking the Royce Lakes Basin, seen under the dwindling twilight, called Earth Shadow. (read blog entry)
