Ditto. Excellent blending technique all around as usual! Interesting the way you built up the waterfall spray with multiple exposures. Great result.

Hi Floris,
Happy you found Tim and Duraplaq! IMO, there is no finer way to display photography and no one better to do it. It's the only way I display my work and Tim is an absolute dream to work with. Your plaque shown here is stunning!

I'm glad you finally got this all worked out, Floris! Your finished product looks great. Thanks for the link and the shiny Printing Czar badge :)

Canvas wraps: I'm with you 100%. Ironically, canvas wrap sales have skyrocketed in the last few years and lots of consumers enjoy the look :(

Thanks Mark! I just got back from a short weekend in the rolling oak hills of southern Washington, but they don't hold a candle to the serenity of the California landscape!

Floris,

I've followed your work for a while (from the days you helped moderate naturephotographers.net), and share the fact that I used to live in California but have since moved away. The Sierra, the coast, the desert, and even the redwoods -- all fantastic -- are easy to see and recognize, but I've always thought that the brief time when the oaks and grasslands are in green is an underappreciated beauty of the state.

"Sunshine Oaks" is a lovely image.

I enjoyed your pictures and story. We have plenty of those poppy's up here in the PNW too... that shot you take makes them look quite lovely.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, Rick, I really appreciate it! I'm glad you enjoy my reflections. Indeed, photographs on their own do not tell the whole story, and I enjoy taking the time to fill in the gaps of the experience and its meaning to me on a more personal level.
